Story
On the 1st of May 2024 I was diagnosed with primary breast cancer, I thought that was it, my time was up BUT I was told it had been caught early and that my squatter (lump) was small. I had a lumpectomy to evict said squatter and a sentinel node biopsy to check if there were any cancer cells in my lymph nodes. Pleased to say there weren't, so this meant a course of radiotherapy and I'm now on endocrine treatment for 5 years (hormone blockers). So following on from the mental and physical battering my body has been through in the last 6 months I'm now going to push my body again by walking 24 miles of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge. No mean feat for someone who has rheumatoid arthritis (which is currently behaving itself) but I will be steadily building up my stamina, strength and fitness again with the help of my husband Andrew. He will also be doing the challenge to support me, whilst raising money for Breast Cancer Now too, so any donations given to Andrew, myself or our team page will go to the same place and be much appreciated. If anyone would like to join us on this challenge give us a shout.
