ERUK is currently funding vital research into epilepsy in over 20 institutions from Southampton to Edinburgh. This September our ever-brilliant supporters will be virtually cycling the distance between all these research centres to raise vital funds.

Story

We are a group of clinicians and researchers from the Welsh Epilepsy Centre and Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC) taking part in the first-ever Tour de ERUK. Together we are cycling the distance between all the Epilepsy Research UK funded institutes in the UK, all 932 miles. We also like cycling so may round twice!

The team:

Khalid Hamandi - Consultant Neurologist. Liam Gray - Epilepsy Surgeon. Malisa Pierri - Epilepsy Specialist Nurse. Dmitri Sastin - Neurosurgery Trainee and Research Fellow. Abuzer Hanif - Neurology Research Fellow. Joseph Simmonds - Neurology Teaching Fellow. John Evans - CUBRIC MRI Lab manager. Emre Kopanoglu - Lecturer and CUBRIC Researcher. Jennifer Roebber - CUBRIC Researcher.

Every mile we cycle and every pound we raise will go towards providing help for today and hope for tomorrow for people living with epilepsy. Please donate whatever you can, it provides us with some great motivation!

Epilepsy Research UK is the only charity exclusively dedicated to driving and enabling life changing, life saving research in the UK. ERUK pioneering funded research is currently being carried out in over 40 universities and hospitals throughout the country. The projects are of the highest scientific merit and aim to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow. A life free from epilepsy is possible. The only way to achieve this is through research.

Thank you.
