Story
Stuart Brown who sadly passed away earlier this year from cancer is the main reason a large number of colleagues are wanting to follow his lead and do something for a couple of charities that Stuart was close to & passionate about - MacMillian Cancer and Cancer Card where he was Cancer Card’s first Charity Ambassador as he believed the work of both made a real difference to people, families and their communities when they needed help the most
Stuart was a passionate, selfless and inspirational leader and a friend to many during his working career. He believed in helping people, businesses and local communities one step at a time and in honour of him we are looking to walk to Ukraine and back (virtually) which is a total of 3,000 miles.
During the week the 6th to the 10th of June colleagues and friends across the UK will be supporting this cause and aim to raise up to £50,000 over this week.
Given Stuart’s belief that we can all make a difference and help people when they need us most we will also be supporting the Ukraine Humanitarian appeal and we are all more than welcome to come and support us in our challenge to get out on the front foot as our aim is to remember our much loved colleague through supporting these worthy charities in doing something as a team.
Already, over two million people have fled their homes to escape intense conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind loved ones, livelihoods and almost everything they own, they need shelter, food, and water. People are losing their homes and lives, essential services like water and healthcare have been hit and temperatures have dropped below zero.
With your help we can support ActionAid and the DEC in scaling up their response and help families to stay warm and protect women and girls. - £10 could provide essential hygiene supplies for 1person for one month - £50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm - £100 could provide emergency food for 2 families for one month
