Story
The Walker Wallys are showing their stripes for literacy by taking part in the Where's Wally? virtual run!
We're donning the classic red and white stripes, and we're running, walking or jogging to help support the literacy of disadvantaged children. Every penny we raise will help change their life stories.
Children born in communities with the most serious literacy problems have some of the lowest life expectancies in England - with the biggest gaps being 26.1 years for boys and 20.9 for girls.
They start school 19 months behind their peers, and are held back at every stage in their lives. They are twice as likely to be unemployed aged 34 and three times more likely to have mental health problems as adults.
Your support makes all the difference, and means that the National Literacy Trust can continue their work to close this literacy gap, and change life stories.
