Story
Each year Valley Mission conducts fundraising events that support programming and provide essential operating income for our homeless shelter. One such event is Just Jazzin’, Valley Mission’s signature gala, held annually in November at Gypsy Hill Place. Due to current circumstances, we are unable to conduct this and other events, which means our programming is affected in a detrimental manner. As such, we have decided to give our competitive Board Members an opportunity to highlight their fundraising skills through the Justgiving platform. Not only does this assist us in garnering revenue, but soon we will know who is best liked by their friends, colleagues and family!
Valley Mission is a non-profit organization offering shelter, support, hope and Gods love to the homeless. Basic needs of shelter, food, clothing, and spiritual encouragement are provided to all, regardless of religious belief or practice. The Valley Mission provides temporary housing and proactively works with residents to obtain permanent, affordable housing for themselves and their families. The Mission's staff began by assisting clients with finding employment, food, and shelter in 1971, and has now expanded programming to include comprehensive case management, mental health services, support groups, and life skills courses. Our 125-bed facility now serves more women and families than the original male-based population. All services are provided at no cost to anyone seeking help, and if the Mission cannot directly assist, we work with a collaborative network of partners to ensure that our clients achieve permanent solutions to their housing challenges.
