Story

The Footprints foundation have been doing tremendous work in Lehae in SA for many years. CN was lucky enough to travel to Lehae with a building team - For Viva 2018 and Liberty 2019. Bringing a visual assessment team and thousands of pairs of glasses hundreds of people from 1 to 96 years of age were assessed and given glasses that allowed them to see. It was a very humbling experience, helping us put our UK lives in perspective.

This year the plan is to train up the local nurses in several clinics, enabling them to continue the work once we have returned to the UK.

About the charity

The Footprints Foundation aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those people with significant health issues. We aim to support these people during the most trying periods of their lives and help give them the strength and confidence to enjoy a fulfilled life. Our aim is to support through volunteering and hands on help rather than solely providing financial support.
