Story
Barratt Yorkshire Easts has decided this year to raise money to a very worthy cause is SASH, but due to current Covid-19, our efforts have been minimalised due to lockdown restrictions. We have however managed to get together a team of 5 from Commercial to take on a challenge of 450miles throughout the month of July split between the 5 individuals. This can be done walking, running or cycling. To make this more of a competition within the team, we have tasked anybody who is taking on the challenge by foot (running or walking) that they need to complete their 20% share of the miles, which works out at 5km run a day with two days off. If using a bike to complete the challenge, their aim is to try complete 100% of the target so 450 miles each.
We understand that it is very uncertain times at the moment and we will appreciate every donation no matter the size, as said by TESCO “Every Little Helps” and in this case it really will. Thank you in advance!
Nearly half of the young people who come to SASH facing homelessness, do so because of family breakdown. Right now, there are young people in our community living in unstable family circumstances, surrounded by abuse - all they have to look forward to once lockdown is lifted, is the dread of being kicked out of their family home or making the impossible decision to flee a toxic environment.
Our expert support workers are predicting a rise in the need for our services after lockdown is lifted.
We want these young people know that there is hope and a better life after lockdown. With your help, we can make sure that they have safe home and a bright future.
