Story
It is with great sadness that we share that on Saturday April 8th 2023, Vicky passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her Family.
Vicky was a wonderful, inspiring, energetic, and supportive lady. A loving Wife of 50 years to Barry; proud Mum to Ian, Katie, & Lucy; and a wonderful “Nanny” to 8 young grandchildren. Vicky will be so sorely missed by all of us, and so many more family and friends.
After two years of living bravely with, and fighting, Stage 4 Cancer, Vicky had never taken a backwards step. She always lived life to the full and people were often shocked to find out that she had been dealing with Cancer.
We invite donations in Vicky’s honour to be made to two wonderful causes that are now very close to our hearts; and that Vicky would be proud to be supporting.
The Bowelbabe Fund, is funding early detection, cutting edge research and raising awareness of Bowel Cancer. Like Dame Deborah James, the founder of this fund, Vicky was inspirational and bravely lived life to the full, in spite of living with Stage 4 Cancer. The Bowelbabe Fund has been doing excellent work to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer, which will hopefully help many in the future to an early diagnosis and a better prognosis.
We are also supporting Cancer Research UK, who are furthering studies and funding life-changing research and cancer treatments. Vicky has supported and sadly lost close friends and family members to various different types of cancer. In her loving support of her friends and their families, and through her own treatment Vicky always believed and held hope in science - she would be proud to be supporting future life changing research
In order to donate via Vicky's Just Giving page you will see two team members below which are both called Vicky Blackmore, one link takes you to Bowelbabe Fund and one to Cancer Research UK.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, love and memories.
