On the 4th January 2022 our world was turned upside down with the news that Philip (Husband, Dad and Grandpa) was told that he had legions on his brain. Later diagnosed as Glioblastoma, an extremely aggressive Brain Tumour that was to take him from us on 21st March 2022, less that 3 months later.

Philip was an active person and shared a love of cycling with his wife Vanessa, sharing precious memories on cycling holidays around the UK as well as Philip's continuous support whilst Vanessa took on her own cycling challenges, cycling to Amsterdam and various other sportiefs, whilst trying to combat her Fibromyalgia, finding cycling as her 'medicine' to ease her symptoms. She has clocked up over 40,000 miles since 'getting into cycling' in 2016! Vanessa has always dreamed of cycling London to Paris and Philip was eager to support her on the road with this, being her bike mechanic and cheering her along the route. With this dream thought to be shattered its always remained on her bucket list.

This year we are going to make this dream come true! Vanessa, along with her daughter Nikky (zero experience) are officially signed up to London to Paris, September 2024! While Vanessa has plenty of experience cycling the distances required, Nikky will be spending the next 6 months training to get up to the 80 miles a day needed to complete the challenge. The event with be over 4 days starting from Croydon, London on Wednesday 25th September 2024 and will take them on a 315 mile route to Paris by Saturday 28th September 2024, travelling home the day after.
