Story
We're TEAM V3NTURE, a trio of British Army soldiers attempting to be the first military trio to row any ocean. The team comprises Rob Cross (Welsh Guards), Charlie Newman (Royal Artillery) and Rob Treasure (The Rifles).
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is an international event regarded as the world’s most demanding ocean rowing race. It is a non-stop 3000-mile voyage from the Canary Islands to Antigua in an 8m rowing boat, unsupported, over approximately 35 days.
"What's your motivation for rowing the Atlantic?"
Our goal is to raise as much money as possible in support of Macmillan Nurses.
Rob's Dad, Stephen Treasure, passed away after a battle with cancer last year. Macmillan Cancer Support is a huge source of help and comfort to thousands of cancer sufferers. We hope to aid Macmillan in their determination to continually improve the experience of cancer for its patients. Macmillan will receive 70% of all funds raised. These funds will be reserved specifically to support Macmillan Nurses!
We are also very proud of the units in which we serve. 30% will be donated to our three regimental charities. Our target is £200,000 and we would be hugely grateful for your help in getting there.
Whilst the funds from this page will go to Macmillan, the funds raised from the sale of our boat (approx. £80,000) will be used to maintain the 70/30 split.
Our shared love of ventures has led us to the pinnacle of ocean rowing. This will be the ultimate mental and physical test for us.
