Story
This is our 4th Light the Lakes, this time walking to and camping at the lovely Angletarn Pikes. An open friendly group sharing a love for ’the job’ and those that sacrifice to do it. We’re a mixed bunch, straddling all capabilities.
Update: This walk was a real challenge, extremely proud of the team. A lovely sunny start with forecast rain in the afternoon. What we didn’t expect - 45mph wind gusts on top of Place Fell (657m) and horizontal rain. We pushed on to Round How but without a safe way to get down the fell we had to make camp early, taking shelter below the ridgeline until the weather calmed down a bit! We were all a bit wet but no-one was blown away! We held our remembrance event in the morning before heading to Patterdale, where to our amazement the sun was shining! Typical.
Thank you to everyone for supporting us and supporting Care of Police Survivors. Your generosity is truly astounding and we are very grateful.
Best wishes,
