Over the last few years, the cost of being a student has skyrocketed, and more students are struggling to make ends meet. We want every student to be supported through their studies. By fundraising today, you can make sure no student is left behind.

Story

Over the last few years, the cost of being a student has skyrocketed. The cost-of-living crisis hasn’t gone away; it’s been accepted as the new norm. But the number of students under increased financial pressure is not sustainable.

When students are worried about making ends meet, there’s no way they can perform at their best. And they can’t take part in those all-important social experiences which define the university experience.

Over the past year, more than 1,000 students applied for donor-funded hardship grants – more than ever before. And there’s no doubt that demand will continue to be incredibly high throughout 2025. It’s so important that every student who needs help can receive it.

That's why we're taking on the Purple Wave challenge, to make sure The University of Manchester remains a place where the best and brightest can thrive – no matter their circumstances.

So please join us in supporting Manchester's students by sponsoring me today.

Thank you!
