For over two decades, York Road Project has been dedicated to providing accommodation (both emergency and longer term) to hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness in our community, here in Woking.

Our work:

We have a 10-bed direct access service that we make available for those in urgent need. Plus, we manage three ‘move-on’ properties, with a total of 14 beds, for those transitioning to longer-term accommodation. Our lodgings are not just a roof over our clients’ heads – we offer them a Bed, Base and Backing to rebuild their lives.

A Bed - Our team is on the streets of Woking earning the trust of rough sleepers and offering them a place in our 10-bed shelter.

A Base - Our shelter is a sanctuary where our clients can stay safe during the day as well as at night.

Our Backing - We offer our clients personalised support and guidance to - get their lives back on track.

We have Resource Centre where rough sleepers can access for a warm shower, clean clothes and supportive staff on hand to help and advise those experiencing homelessness here in our community.

'We believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Year on year funding is being reduced yet homelessness is on the rise nationally.'

What the money will be used for:

The money raised will help us continue our vital work, from outreach to rough sleepers, to food parcels, to coaching, this money will go towards many of the services we provide here at YRP. No one should face having to rough sleep, but it does happen and we are here as a lifeline to so many, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
