Story

Explore Dartmoor, home to lofty granite tors, ancient woodlands and secluded villages, all while trekking 26 miles. Take on the challenge surrounded by people who are trekking for loved ones, and raise moneyAlzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. My mum was very recently set free from the world when she passed away with Frontal temporal dementia. She was just 67 years of age and had lived with the disease for 8 years.. She was always uncomplaining, loving and had a very sweet tooth. Following the death of my Dad, her carer, a year ago she progressively deteriorated not helped by the isolation from the family due to the pandemic. We walk in her memory to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for this cruel disease so no other family will have to suffer. Thank you for your support
