Event: Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon, on 29 September 2024
Funds raised by runners in the Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon to be divided equally between Folkestone Rotary Charities and Touchbase Care.

Story

This year the Folkestone Half Marathon is raising crucial funds for the Folkestone Rotary Club and their local charity partner, Touchbase Care. All funds raised will be shared equally the two organisations to support the incredible work they each do.

Touchbase Care is honoured to be the local charity partner this year, and we're putting forward our own team of runners made up of staff, volunteers, and the wider community.

Running for Touchbase are: Matt, Victoria, Emily, Mike and Katie.

The Rotary Club of Folkestone is a group of men and women who live or work in or near Folkestone and who meet regularly for both fellowship and service. We are a part of Rotary International, a global network of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Ever since our Club was founded in 1923, our members have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to support the community in Folkestone in diverse ways From bringing Christmas cheer as we bring Santa’s sleigh round the town, to distributing food parcels and providing practical help to people in need. From supporting community-led projects, to helping out with school uniforms. On a wider stage, we have contributed time and money to sustainable projects around the world such as Rotary International’s leadership of the global drive to eradicate Polio
