Story
A group of us have committed to raise funds by canoeing down the Zambezi river - roughly 90kms of hippo and croc infested river. We are sleeping under canvas on islands under the Zambian night sky - with no showers or toilets! The trip is self-funded (each person paying for themselves) and we have a personal target and we'd love to raise as much as possible with your help
Many species including the African elephant are under threat of extinction. Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) is a non-profit organisation committed to the protection of wildlife and to the sustainable use of natural resources in the Lower Zambezi in Zambia.
We are supporting CLZ’s environmental education programme this year which includes combat against poaching of wildlife and natural resource exploitation in and around the Lower Zambezi National Park.
Changing mindsets through education and awareness is key to the long term safeguarding of wildlife and the environment. Through its education programme, CLZ also wishes to provide learners and ultimately communities with the tools to find their own solutions to environmental degradation and improving livelihoods in these remote rural areas. CLZ currently works with 65 schools surrounding the LZNP reaching over 3,000 students.
