Story
Well along with my wonderful wife @tw1nsmum I thought this would be the only time I would get a medal for a marathon. We both put in for @norfolkgazelles club place, not really thinking we would win. Well she only went and got a place. What escalated over the next couple of hours was a complete FOMO moment. So I emailed our friends @nervetumoursuk to see if maybe they had a space. Despite it being an evening I got a note back with the offer of a place in 30 mins. So now Sharon and I will be running the marathon in 2023 in support of the charity. Looking forward to the challenge which this time I intend to enjoy and soak in. Bring it on.
We are supporting Nerve Tumours UK because their mission means a great deal to us. They provide crucial support to people living with the Neurofibromatoses- the conditons that cause nerve tumours. They are dominant genetic conditions, which means that they can be passed on in families from one generation to the next through genetic inheritance. Similarly, about half of nerve tumours cases recorded have no previous family history of the condition. In other words, it can occur totally “out of the blue”.Please help me bolster their support.
Our family has been affected significantly with Sharon losing a brother at the age of 40 and another who is affected along with his daughter.
