Story
The Journey x Countrywoman's Guide is a month-long UK wide road trip throughout September created to raise awareness and funding for two incredible charities.
Co-founders Holly Thomson and Emma Warren will be speaking with various individuals and sharing stories from in-person, exclusive interviews throughout the country, with Holly hitting the road in a Land Rover and Emma Warren joining her for a number of these incredible conversations as the month unravels.
Holly has chosen to raise funds for Pompe Support Network , a small charity close to her heart, working hard to support people living with the rare genetic disorder, Pompe (Glycogen Storage Disease), and to raise awareness for the condition as well as funding for research and treatments. Her father lives with the condition and inspired her choice.
The second charity we've chosen is the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) which many of our readers, wider followers and friends will be familiar with in the countryside and rural communities. Emma already supports them with donations from Hiho Silver RABI endorsed jewellery, but, following the sad loss of one of her son’s friends earlier in the year, is even more passionate about raising funds to put more mental health support out into the farming community. RABI is "an award-winning national charity providing local support to the farming community across England and Wales. Established in 1860, we have been offering guidance, financial support and practical care to farming people of all ages for generations."
Countrywoman's Guide is an independent and empowering digital first publication bringing countrywomen together through exclusive storytelling, interviews and more. There's so much wisdom hidden away in the folds of the countryside.
By exploring and sharing stories, we hope to inspire, inform and create an across the ages countryside community of guidance and support.
Through this fundraising campaign, we hope to raise £5,000 in total, £2,500 for each charity.
Holly and Emma will be sharing updates from the trip and interviews on the @countrywomansguide Instagram account, which is also on Facebook and LinkedIn as Countrywoman's Guide.
Holly will be sharing daily behind the scenes style on her personal Instagram account @holllythomson with Emma also sharing content on her own Instagram @emmawarren_1 too.
We want to thank our headline sponsors, Blackdown Shepherd Huts and Hiho Silver and Dimpsey Glamping for supporting and enabling this trip to happen. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, every penny raised will go direct to each of the charities.
