Story
Following a recent trip to Uganda on November 8th 2024, we had the privilege of spending time at the incredible One Love Project, a school that supports 220 orphaned, vulnerable, and disabled children.
During our stay, we also visited the surrounding community of Kabale and was deeply moved by the extreme poverty many people endure.
One encounter, in particular, has stayed with us. Just before flying back to the UK, we met a mother of 4-year-old triplets. Her husband had abandoned her, leaving her homeless and struggling to feed her children. Between us, we were able to provide her with a mattress, blankets, pillows, and a month’s supply of food. While we did all we could in the short time we had, we can’t stop thinking about her.
We are determined to help her build a better future. Our dream is to secure a piece of land for her, initiate the construction of a small home, and, once it is complete, fly back to Uganda to help her set up a small business that will allow her to sustain herself and her boys. No mother should have to endure the pain of being unable to provide shelter, clothing, or food for her children.
In the meantime, we have committed to providing her with monthly food supplies. We’ve also enrolled her triplets at the One Love School, where they will receive an education, two meals a day, and access to medical care. This will be funded by ourselves. The money raised through this page is fir the house build.
We will share updates on this journey, documenting our progress with stories and photos.
Any donation, big or small, will make a world of difference. You’ll see firsthand how your generosity can give this mother and her boys the lifeline they desperately need.
