Story
Dear Friends and Family,
This girl stole my heart (and my family's) from day one and I have had the honor of loving her over the past 17+ years. Katelyn is smart, talented, outgoing, full of joy, a loyal friend and amazing hugger. Katelyn is a talented performer and has appeared in a movie, tv shows and many times on stage...and loves being involved in show choir at her high school. Down Syndrome doesn't stop Katelyn from achieving her goals and dreams and she continues to teach me so much. All individuals deserve the chance to learn, grow, and be supported so they can live life to their full potential.
This year, I'm participating in OPARC's Virtual Turkey Trot in honor of my friend, Katelyn. As you can guess, COVID-19 has had a drastic impact on OPARC and the individuals they support. OPARC is a non-profit organization that supports, employs and transforms the lives of adults with disabilities. It's an amazing organization, I know, because I also work there.
