Story
Having completed the 50km Ultra March fundraising walk over the Kent Downs on 12th October 2024 I was looking for a challenge for 2025 and decided to take part in the London Winter Walk organised by Action Challenge. However, this time it will be a family affair!
Myself, my eldest son and his partner and my youngest son are taking part in the 25 mile London Winter Walk alongside me to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. My daughter is taking part to raise money for Ronald McDonald House in memory of a beautiful boy named Max.
Macmillan gave me amazing cancer support following my diagnosis with Advanced Stage 4 Prostate Cancer in early 2021. For me, my worries became Macmillan’s worries and they helped me cope with situation from the first day to the very last, when my treatment was complete, the bell was rung and I was confirmed as in remission.
Ronald McDonald House provided great support to my daughter's close friends whilst their son was undergoing treatment far from their home. The charity enabled their family to be together during the most difficult of times, putting a roof over their heads and providing much needed support whilst Max was undergoing treatment.
Only with the generosity of donations Macmillan Cancer Support and Ronald McDonald House are able to provide their valuable and much needed services in times of significant stress for individuals and their families. But without your help neither charity will be able to support everyone who needs them.
I have started the fundraising by donating £100 to each of our Just Giving pages and would ask you give generously. So please help us help them by donating through JustGiving. It is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe as JustGiving never sell them or send unwanted emails. And, once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
Thank you from us all for any donation that you can make, no matter how big or small.
