Story
The official explanation:
We're taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walk to help Breast Cancer Now fund their world-class research and life-changing care for anyone affected by breast cancer. By 2030, its estimated that 1.2 million women will be living with the disease. Breast Cancer Now are uniting to make life-saving discoveries and are here to offer expert support to anyone, the whole way through their breast cancer experience. But they cant do it alone. By sponsoring our Pink Ribbon Walk you can help change the lives of men and women and the future of breast cancer.
Personal note from Abi:
On 3rd February 2022 - and completely out of the blue - I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following surgery, radiotherapy and an ongoing prescription for tamoxifen, I am currently cancer-free. My husband was then diagnosed with a different cancer just 8 months after my diagnosis. He is now also recovering. We both are a bit battered and bruised, but our outlooks are good (fingers crossed).
I'm doing this walk with friends and family to raise money and to celebrate life.

P.S. and as for the team name? Well, boobies are blue eyed birds that flap around looking daft. You can probably work out the boss-eyed bit from the info above ;-)
