The BigTour, 24 in 2024.

On the 14th April 2024, a team of 4 ATCOs: Wayne Clarke, Richard Fell, Shaun Bellairs-Wray and Harvey McVicar will go on a little motorcycle ride; from Aberdeen Airport to Gibraltar Airport, visiting every Nats/Nats Solutions Operational ATC Unit en-route.  

The team are raising funds to support Aerobility and the work they do, enabling disabled people and injured military veterans to experience flight and to learn to fly.

The trip is massive. The approximate distance (on the road) is 3000 miles. There are 4 ferries involved.  As experienced riders, we are under no illusions as to the magnitude of the challenge.

Swanwick Centre (including Western Radar)

RAF Gibraltar.

We plan to spend at least an hour at each unit to meet staff, see how they operate and hopefully raise donations.
