Story
On the 4th July, Toby and I will be taking on the Outlaw Holkham Half (Half Ironman - 1.9km Swim/90km Bike/21.1km Run) to raise money for two charities:
1. The Charlie Watkins Foundation
Charlie Watkins was only 22 when he took his life in March 2017. Sadly, Charlie never recovered from the tragic loss of his mother when he was only nine years old. Charlie is one of many examples of young people who suffer from mental health challenges today, and the Charlie Watkins Foundation aims to raise funds for partners of the foundation to better support young people who struggle with their mental health and wellbeing.
2. St Helena Hospice
St Helena Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to local people facing incurable illness in north east Essex, supporting them, their families, friends and carers. It offers individual care and total support wherever it is needed; at home, over the phone with our 24/7 advice line, and at the hospice.
The work they did to care for my Grandfather in May 2020 was truly outstanding, but they need £6m in funding each year just to stay in existence.
Any support you are able to give would be greatly appreciated!
Please note the 1st link is for The Charlie Watkins Foundation and the 2nd is for St Helena Hospice - they are separate.
