My husband Andrew has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s dementia, and as a family we are keen to do all we can to support research into finding effective treatments for dementia-related illnesses. Throughout life Andrew has always been super fit and very active, and apart from his family there’s nothing he loves more than a challenge! We’ve chosen to do the Walking for a Cure event in Edinburgh because that’s where our daughter Lucy lives. Lucy, our sons Michael and Jonathan, our daughter-in-law Liz and I are all going to be at Andrew’s side as he takes on the 5k route through beautiful Holyrood Park. Andrew’s diagnosis is a constant challenge to his cognition and mobility, so this event is going to represent his own personal marathon. Between us we’re determined to help Andrew reach the finish line! Most of us know someone whose has been affected by this toughest of illnesses. The Hunot family would be beyond grateful for any contribution, however small, to support our challenge and raise money for ARUK’s crucial research work."}]}]}]
