Story
1st September and we are off to a flying start with Jonathan and Katie clocking up 40 miles this morning. Only another 960 miles to go!
Cycle4Sepsis is back for its 8th year and we are supporting them in their mission to raise awareness about sepsis across the country. This year, the format is unique - we're going virtual!
A year ago I contracted Sepsis, I spent 10 days in intensive care and 4 months in hospital. As a result of Sepsis I had to undergo bilateral below knee amputations with further amputations of fingers. I am recovering due to fantastic NHS care and the amazing support of my family, friends and the Sepsis Trust. In celebration of World Sepsis Day on 13th September our team, The 6-foot-4 are cycling to raise funds for the UK Sepsis Trust. We will be cycling for the duration of the month: 1st - 30th September, I will be cycling on my static bike and Jaki, Jonathan and Katie will be cycling around the North West of England and the Scottish Highlands. Between us we aim to cycle 1000 miles - the equivalent of cycling from Glasgow to Berlin.
We are looking for some special, kind people to sponsor us! So if you could, it would be great if you'd donate to my page. Every year in the UK, sepsis kills at least 48,000 people with better awareness thousands of these lives could be saved. Thank you for your help! Your support and donations will make the difference!
Well, today is the final day of our Cycle 4 Sepsis challenge - the 6-foot-4 surpassed our target by cycling 1177 miles and raising a fantastic £3,428 for the UK Sepsis Trust. Thank you to everyone who has supported us - your contributions will make a real difference!
