Caring Matters Now is partnering with CMN support groups across the world to raise global awareness of Congenital Melanocytic Naevus. In response, Caring Matters Now hopes to raise £1000.

Story

Caring Matters Now is a very small but hugely worthwhile charity, and one close to our hearts; Caring Matters Now is the only UK dedicated charity that supports people affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN), a rare disorder affecting the skin and brain.

CMN is an association of dark brown/black birthmarks (moles) which can cover up to 80% of the body.

CMN are mostly untreatable and carry an increased risk of malignant melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer.

CMN syndrome is the association of these moles with neurological problems including brain tumours, spinal tumours, developmental complications, fluid on the brain and/or characteristic facial features.

We are keen to raise funds to continue the ongoing support provided to families affected by CMN and to fund research to try to develop treatments for CMN, including the neurological complications and the devastating, fatal malignant melanoma.
