We support the Vaughan Community to improve educational opportunities

Story

Mr Brett (Head of First Form) and Ms Georgiakakis (Teacher of Classics) are setting themselves a series of physical challenges to raise funds for the Vaughan Foundation.

Ms Georgiakakis will take on the Ride London 100 in May – a cycle of 100 miles - the 2-mile Swim Serpentine event in Hyde Park in September and the London Marathon next year, which together make up the London Classics trio of events.

Meanwhile, Mr Brett will be running the Milan Marathon next month, as well as the London Marathon in the same month!

The Vaughan Association is an arm of the Saint John Southworth Foundation. It aims to provide exceptional opportunities, extra-curricular facilities and pupil support to ensure young people develop their skills and talents to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible adults.

Any donation is greatly appreciated, whatever the amount! Thank you very much indeed for supporting Cardinal Vaughan and its pupils.

Mr Brett comments: “I am delighted to raise awareness and financial support for the Vaughan Foundation, which continues to support the Physical Education department and wider school life by providing specialist equipment and enhancing our pupils’ experience at the school through their invaluable assistance with providing extra-curricular opportunities.”

Ms Georgiakakis adds: "I'm greatly enjoying training for these events and I'm thrilled to be able to combine this with fundraising for school. I'm a big believer in the power of physical activity for empowering everyone to feel more energised, motivated and happy, and I hope that Mr Brett and I will inspire pupils to continue to push themselves and take on new challenges."
