Story
This is our 5th Light the Lakes, this time walking to and camping at the lofty Catstye Cam, near Ullswater in the Lake District.
We've planned a 15.6km round robin, with 2km elevation and a wild camp. Each of us will be carrying our shelter and 24 hours of provisions. We will be lighting our flares/torches in the darkest hours to remember friends and colleagues lost.
An open friendly group sharing a love for ’the job’ and those that sacrifice to do it. We’re a mixed bunch, straddling all capabilities.
This hike, and Light the Lakes will support COPS.
COPS provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.
Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who have died in-service.

Not long to go before we head up to the lakes, and the weather forecast is looking great!
We've raised over £6,421 since 2019 and as a Team have already raised more than £1,500 this year alone. Your support is truly appreciated.

Update 22 June 2024:
Thank you all for your support, and a huge well done to Team Up who after a steep daytime climb got up at 2am to brave the cloud and light up Catstye Cam. Brilliant ❤️
