Story

One day to go we are on our way . Rain is forcast but we love the rain 🤪

6.6.21 hot hot hot today 😞. We went to the Isle of Grain for what was a long but flat 16 miler . Did we suffer in the heat today and the lack of any changing scenery but we did it and now only have 3 training walks left to go x

23.5.21. today was meant to be a nice 9 miler as not everyone could train....... well holly hill and surrounding area was never going to be a stroll ! . 6 weeks left to go ...

17.5.21. A very wet 17 miles walked today . We didnt give in we started in the rain and had lunch in the rain ! Today we were joined by our 7th wayfarer for the first time and didnt he enjoy walking with us women ! 7 weeks to go to the big day !

9.5.21 Today we treated ourselves to a semi rest day and walked 7.5 miles around Linton. so lovely to be out in the sunshine . And the bonus this week was that the walk finished at a pub .... nice

3.5.21 SO today we upped our mileage to 16 miles all around Edenbridge and Hever. We got round but were feeling the pain a little today on the old hips and knees. the only thing keeping us going is Trudy's energy balls and cake !

25.4.21 Today was a very hilly walk taking in the hills of Sevenoaks - Ide Hill, Toys Hill, Crockham Hill and finally back up Toys Hill.

18.4.21 14 miles today round the beautiful Leeda Castle and pilgrims way. Sallys fantastic bakewell tart and trudys balls got us round !!! . Training going well.....

11.4.21 Now that we are able to walk as a 6 again training has started with a 11 miler last week and a hilly walk to knowle today with a treat of coffee amd cake half way round.

Gower Peninsula 26 miles July 2021. We are now all set for the rescheduled walk with an additional team member so please donate if you can no matter how small. We are all trying hard to keep walking but it is hard on your own because of lockdown , please support us .

The Jurassic Coast Hike has had to be cancelled due to the current Covid-19 situation. So we have decided to still go and complete some of the walk on our own for training and of course a cheeky weekend away. BUT we are transferring our place to July next year and will be attempting to complete the Gower Peninsula Mighty Hike in July 2021. So training continues and hopefully we will be able to raise even more funds for Macmillan.

5.9.20

A few photos from this weekend where we walked the jurassic coast 16 miles .

30.7.20 ******* UPDATE *******

29.8.20

last walk before we head down to the jurassic coast next weekend. Although we are not doing the full 26 miles we are all lookkng forward to walking along the stunning coast. maybe not looking forward to the hills as much !! It will be good training for the Gower next year.

Bewl 13 miles around the reservoir .

2.8.20 . 12.5 miles today around Lenham and Leeds . Lovely walk very friendly animals and great buns 😜

11.7.20 another lovely walk round plaxtol and borough green today but this time for the first time since lockdown we were able to enjoy a well needed coffee and cake at the end 😁

4.7.20 today we walked 18 miles the furthest yet and didnt we feel it !!

21.6.20 another walk this weekend keeping the training up and most importantly the cakes being baked for the rest stops are fantastic !

15.6.20 We have been training hard and have reached the 15 mile point in our training. All going good so far but we do need to tackle some more hills.

Please sponsor us if you can for such a good cause.

We are a group of friends who have known each other for many years, we wanted to challenge ourselves both mentally and physically so walking 26 miles in a day up and down the coast seemed to tick all the boxes. We are all ladies of a certain age and as the years go by, sadly know friends and family who have been diagnosed with cancer. This is a big deal for us, as none of us have completed any serious walks before ! We have our training plan sorted so now just need to do it, so please help us and donate what you can however small. Thankyou from Jo, Sally, Trudy, Sam, Sally and Caroline.
