Great North Run 2023 · 10 September 2023 ·

Run 13.1 miles from city to coast on this iconic route in the Great North Air Ambulance Service region.

Story

As student paramedics we have decided to challenge ourselves by doing the GNR and raise funds for a charity we see making a difference to patients lives in the process.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident, whether on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre.

The charity responded to more than 1,600 call-outs last year via their helicopter and rapid response vehicles, performing treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
