Story
We're taking on Pedal Paddle Peak - Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK and for Roy's son, Owen, who suffers with this condition.
The challenge for Roy, Adam, Darren & Shaun-
In the beautiful Snowdonia, we take on all three elements of this epic challenge together as a team of four. This challenge will entail the following:
• Pedal 🚴♀️ – a scenic 24 mile cycle route from our starting point in Llanberis to the base of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa)
• Peak ⛰ – Change into your mountain gear and hike to the Summit Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), the highest mountain in England and Wales at 1,085m
• Paddle 🛶 – for the last leg of the challenge, we will kayak 2.5 miles on the pristine waters of Llyn Padarn
This event is a challenging and will take approximately 9 – 11 hours to complete.
Owen is now 20 years old and lives every day with the effects of Muscular Dystrophy - many daily things we take for granted Owen needs to plan how to execute. Owen was first diagnosed when he was 8 years old and has regular yearly checks as well as a life changing spinal operation back in 2019. Despite the condition Owen remains very positive and fulfils his time watching football, playing darts and pc gaming. After college he has started a part time career in IT field engineering and enjoys these new challenges.
Along with Dad (Roy), brother Adam and two very good friends, Darren and Shaun we take on the PPP challenge because we understand that MDUK need support now more than ever, and our muscles matter.
Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and it many cases, it limits lives. MDUK fund world-class research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions.
All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
