Story
Team O'Neill is a group of friends and family of the late Shane O'Neill who gather each year to raise funds for Street Child (Formerly Lessons for Life Foundation which was set up by Shane in 2008) Like life, the charity has evolved over time, but retains its original ethos of helping the most disadvantaged young people. Street Child has done really tremendous work through the pandemic, through its network of people on the ground, helping keep people as safe as possible, and to give the children within their reach support to continue to learn.
The challenge this year takes place in the Chiltern Hills in the UK, on the 14th and 15th September. We will cycle a total of 160 + Kms over two days, and training has been somewhat disrupted this year, so we are slightly on a wing and a prayer with this one.
Every year this event raises a huge amount to help children and communities across Africa and Asia. Since 2008, we have helped children to go to school and have supported families to set up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their children long-term. This would not have been possible without all the fantastic support we have received from our challenge participants.
