Story

Team Neve Keep Smiling are taking part in Scotland'sKiltwalk2021.

My youngest daughter Neve (now 2 yrs old) was diagnosed at our 20 week scan with a unilateral cleft lip and palate. That day we were contacted by our local cleft nurse and from that moment we were under the care of our local cleft team based at the Queen Elizabeth children’s hospital in Glasgow. We were also connected with CLAPA.

Our cleft journey began with a routine ultrasound, from that moment our world seemed out of control. The first year of Neves life was intense and included numerous appointments and two surgeries. Cleft care is ongoing, and Neve may face many more surgeries throughout her life.

1 in every 700 babies born in the UK are born with a cleft and many families are just starting their journey. The smallest donation can make a big difference.
