Event: Roughin' it for a Reason, on 24 September 2020
Will you camp in cold or comfort... that's up to you! Roughin' it for a Reason presented by Cabela's is a campout fundraiser that you can do safely from your own backyard or balcony to help build a new Nature Centre at Scanlon Creek.

Story

Hey there......we're Team LSRCA!

We're Roughin' it for a Reason because we're passionate about nature and want to ensure that everyone from age 2 to 102 have a safe place to go to be inspired and learn about nature. The picture above shows the campers who participated in 2019. Together, they raised $24,000! We hope this inspires our 2020 campers in making this another successful year.

The current Nature Centre is a the end of its life and if we don't build a new one, Outdoor Education programming will end at Scanlon Creek. The new Nature Centre will be a community hub for environmental learning and the new home for our Outdoor Education team (and they're doing some pretty cool stuff, including educating the next generation of environmental champions!).

Some of our very own staff attended programming at the Nature Center with their schools as young children, and we want to see this continue. Here's Lori, showing off the booklet she made when she visited the Nature Centre in grade 4..

Our team is comprised of Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) staff members and their family and friends. Please help us reach our $25,000 goal and together, we will build the new Nature Centre!

Thank you for your support!
