Story
My Dad and I will be completing the Trek 26 in London in August as my nan, who is only 67, was diagnosed with Alzheimers. It was very sad for all of us but also incredibly motivating for us to do as much as we could to support her. Alzheimers is not a normal part of ageing and can affect people of any age. Alzheimer's Societies research helps people like my nan maintain a normal life for as long as possible. From medicine to support groups - their charity is vital for both people with dementia and their families. My family and I have found Dementia Talking Point (an Alzheimer's society forum) incredibly helpful and if anyone is in need of support or advice then I would highly recommend having a look. Without the advice of some lovely people on the forum, my nan would still be forgetting if her carers had been or not! Again, it is an incredibly important and essential charity which helps millions of people across the country and without it lots of people would be feeling very lost :
We would appreciate any donations no matter how big or small as it all makes a difference! xx
