Story
Sadly it’s now been almost 10 years since the passing of our good friend, Andy Griffiths. Andy was a giant of man with a big heart, giving his all for his country as an Officer, leader and rising star in the British Army.
We all met Andy whilst at Loughborough University and, given his love of anything active, as a mark of remembrance we thought it would be fitting to honour his memory by doing something that is active and social. In keeping with the 'virtual' theme of 2020, during the week beginning 24th August, as a group of friends we will be marking Andy's memory in different ways, with people completing their own personal challenges including half marathons, paddle boarding and climbing Munros in Scotland. A small group of us will also be completing a 4 day cycle ride starting in Weeton, home to the Duke of Lancaster 2nd Batallion, Andy’s unit, and finishing at the Tidworth Military Cemetery, a ride of approximately 250 miles.
We feel this is a great way bring everyone together and remember a great man. We are hoping that we can raise as much money as possible for Blesma which delivers a vital service to support serving and ex service men and women.
Your contribution would be appreciated in making a difference to those who really need it.
