Update 27th July -
It is with a heavy heart that we let you know that unfortunately Michael is not responding to treatment again, he now requires a stem cell transplant to save his life, this is scheduled to happen in the next couple of weeks. This means that myself and Michael will not be able to complete the Great North Run.
But!!!……..we would still appreciate it if you can donate whatever you can, and cheer on our amazing friends who are still running - Natalie Ford Kevin Purvis David Gledhill Stephen Nicholls and Callum Lee Thompson (and not forgetting all the hardwork Sarah Nicholls put in before and after her injury).
They are running for Anthony Nolan (click the link below to find out more about them), we have been very lucky that they have found two matches for Michael, and these amazing people will be going to selflessly donate stem cells to save Michaels life. We owe them everything.
We are lucky to have some brilliant friends, who signed up to this as a group, for a bit of a laugh, but have worked really hard to get to where they are and selflessly signed up to raise money.
I have had to tell Scarlett (who’s only 6!) about the transplant today, not without tears and lots of hugs, but this was made easier with the help of Anthony Nolan and a book they have created for children called Lucy and the Good Soldiers. The support they provide, along with Macmillan has been brilliant.
If your aged between 18 and 30 please consider joining the stem cell register

Here we go again! New Years Day and were setting challenges 🫣 weve signed up to the Great North Run in September 2023 - not one of us are runners - yet!
We are raising money for Anthony Nolan to help save the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders. Just £40 can add a new potential donor to the stem cell register, so every penny really does count.
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
Thankyou all for your donations - and wish us all the best of luck!
