Story
George was born in late July and immediately underwent life saving surgery at The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Complications have meant that he has had subsequent surgeries and only recently moved from the intensive care unit to the high dependancy ward, where he continues to have 24/7 care. His team of specialists, consultants and nursing staff are utterly exceptional in everything they do. Thanks to them, George is a happy and much loved little warrior 💙
We, George's immediate family, are running the Bristol Half Marathon to raise money for this incredible organisation. It is impossible for us to ever properly repay the team who continue to support and care for George but by raising this money we hope to ensure that another child in critical need has the same access to this world class organisation.
There ARE angels on earth - they are the staff at The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Please give as generously as you can to fund their amazing work.
From helping staff, patients or their families, The Grand Appeal puts Bristol Children's Hospital at the heart of everything they do.
They support the hospital through:
Family accommodation: they run three accommodation houses that provide a safe and supportive place for families to stay while their child is in hospital.
Medical research: they invest in medical research programmes to ensure the hospital remains a hub of innovation, where everyday experts pave the way for sick children through a network of projects with international impact.
Equipment: they fund state-of-the-art equipment to save lives.
Music, play and art therapy: their music, play and arts programme can be seen in every ward at Bristol Children's Hospital, helping young children to deal with the stresses and fears they may face during treatment.
Art enhancements: they work to make sure Bristol Children's Hospital provides a fun, stimulating and comforting space for the brave children it cares for.
