Story
My partner had been unwell but during the pandemic it was almost impossible to see a GP, so trying to explain his symptoms over the phone wasn’t easy. But when we did speak to someone they assured us it was nothing serious, after all he’s young fit and healthy! We got given an app for a colonoscopy for the end of March 22, I knew he couldn’t wait that long so we had it brought forward. Fast forward to Feb 22 they told us the worst, it was cancer. His amazing Colorectal team had him booked in for it to be removed and a Stoma fitted to give him a better quality of life. Unfortunately the cancer was too stubborn and couldn’t be removed. So now he’s on chemotherapy hopefully it’ll shrink the tumours and they can try to operate again in the future. Through all this Gary has took it in his stride doing whatever the drs tell him, never wanting to complain about the side effects just simply getting on with it! “Hope… sometimes that’s all you have when you have nothing else, if you have it you have everything’”
