In 2021 we raised over £11500 take our total in the past 4 years to nearly £40000. We have gained more supporters of people who follow us round the country, complete their own sponsorship challenges or raise money with their own activities and events.

We were able to do our Team Ewan CF Ball in October 2021 and raised over £4000 which is fantastic and a great night was had my all.

Ewan is now 4 years old and continues to need a lot of support to maintain his health. In 2021 he had 2 hospital admissions for a bronchoscopy and IV antibiotics. In 2022 Ewan has already had a hospital admission in February for a bronchoscopy and then IV antibiotics and he has started on a new nebulised antibiotic which is to be taken twice per day after physio. This is alongside his morning and evening tablets, his nebulised DNase daily and creon (enzymes) tablets with all his food. Ewan continues to have regular involvement with his CF team at the RVI hospital in Newcastle where he is seen by doctors, nurses, physio and dieticians.

Currently we have are having to keep Ewan as healthy as possible to awaiting Kaftrio which can now be accessed when he is 6 years old. With funding from the CF Trust they have already been able to complete research to lower the age from 12 years old to 6years. Further research is needed ti find medication that is accessible to all those with CF who are not eligible for Kaftrio due to their gene types and also to continue to manage the condition further until a cure is found.

2022 will continue to see Team Ewan members take part in the Great North Swim, the SwimRun and Great North Run alongside raffles, coffee mornings, quiz nights and other personal challenges.
