Story
In October 2021, we unfortunately lost our baby Dylan, when I was 7 months pregnant. What started out as routine and innocuous checks quickly snowballed into more and more concerning tests and by the time I gave birth, I knew I was going to deliver a still born baby.
I have spent the last 6 months trying to put myself back together and recover both physically and emotionally and I'm proud to say, I'm starting to get there and running has played an important role in that journey. I am doing this run to celebrate how far I've come.
The support I have received from the NHS was phenomenal, and I am eternally grateful to the midwives and specialists who somehow got me through it. But the NHS is not perfect, it's struggling under an inordinate amount of pressure and lack of funding and we have continually had to advocate for ourselves and seek outside invaluable support. This run is also an opportunity for me to try and give back for the vital help we received.
During this time, many have expressed how they have felt helpless and you may be reading this and wondering what you can do. Well, here is your chance. Donate some money and continue to support me and the numerous other grieving parents out there.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who tried their best and did what they could to help - I do not know how I could of done this without you.
