Story
Hi all, myself and my mum, Lisa are running the 2023 London Marathon in memory of my dad, David - who most of you probably knew as Mojo, life of the party and the centre of our world. My dad passed away 17th June 2022, only age 60, very unexpectedly and suddenly. Afterwards we found out that despite having multiple ECG’s weeks prior to his death that he had LVH (Left Ventricular Hypertrophy) meaning his blood couldn’t get to his heart, leading to his cardiac arrest which happened instantly. Had this been identified correctly, he would still be here today. My parents were married for 39 years and the loss on behalf of my mum has been unimaginable - so thankfully she will also be running the marathon alongside myself, so please also visit her page if you can as we are entering as separate fundraisers. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives, like my dad. He would be in disbelief at the fact I’m running 42k or 26 miles considering I can only do 5k… training has commenced but I WILL do it. BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures - one which I wish my dad could have had. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. I’m aware the target is high however it’s the pledge set by BHF to run the marathon, so literally every contribution helps massively. Thanks so much -
