Rob Roy Mighty Hike 2023 - half marathon · 3 September 2023 ·

We are hiking a full or half marathon along the Rob Roy Way to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

Sadly after a short illness being diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma - my partner Dave passed away on 6th May at home surrounded by his family. From the first day of diagnosis MacMillan Cancer Support reached out and were still supporting Dave and I until he passed. I will be eternally grateful for all the help and support given and offered by MacMillan especially his skin cancer nurses from Ninewells Oncology.

Anyone who knew Dave will understand the loss and hurt the family and I are feeling, he was a character who loved life, this cruel disease robbed him of the job he loved being a Caddie at St Andrews Old Course and us of so many things that we would have planned for the future.

Hopefully one day this disease will be eradicated and other families will be saved from the suffering and loss that it inflicts on the person with the illness as well as the loved ones left behind.

Until this happens, the support from MacMillan and so many other charitable groups will be needed, we need to keep these amazing services funded.
