Story
Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at our fundraising page! My name is Helen and after completing the Sands Skydiving event in 2022 I have decided that in 2023 I will be taking part in the Sands Snowdon by Night Hike on 20th May 2023! I have also roped in some friends, Mike, Emma, Pete, Narinder and Jo who will join me in this event so we can raise as much money as possible for Sands Stillborn and Neonatal Death Charity.
Beginning in the town of Llanberis, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, this spectacular challenge will see us trekking to the top of Snowdon....at night!
This charity is close to our hearts and we would really appreciate the support however much you can afford! It will be a tough challenge but this is for a very worthy cause!
All donations will help us ensure that no family faces baby loss alone and will help continue to do vital work and research to save babies’ lives 💙🧡
Christina and Simon‘s Story
“Saturday 5th September 2015 was the day our beautiful and perfect baby boy Nicholas was born. He passed away suddenly three months later due to cot death. The day he passed changed the lives of not only us, his parents, but also that of his older brother, his grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
Our lives altered forever, the death of a child is not something that ever leaves you and not something that you ever get over. Sands offers vital support to families going through baby loss, miscarriage and stillbirth.
We are delighted to support Helen and Emma in their charity hike and wish them the best of luck in completing this challenge, raising important, much needed funds for sands.
Good Luck Girls. For Nicholas and Lauren and all babies taken too soon”
Emma and Pete’s Story
“Our lives were torn apart and forever changed on the morning of 6th September 2003 when our 2nd daughter, Lauren Rose died aged only 18 weeks due to cot death. Each year since, we have remembered her through numerous charity events by trying to raise as much money as possible. This year is no different, the challenge is the Midnight Hike up Mount Snowdon with close friends, hopefully reaching the summit by sunrise. It will be really tough, harder than we realise and very emotional, but we are all up for it in memory of Lauren, Nicholas and all other babies lost far too soon”
Narinder’s Story
“In 2006 my first pregnancy sadly ended in a miscarriage. The loss and pain felt at the time is indescribable. Knowing friends and family members who also have miscarried, and friends who have lost babies through cot death, I wanted to take part in this challenge to raise funds for such a worthy cause and help support anyone facing baby loss.“
