Story
Over the years we have supported all our team when they are taking part in challenge events to raise money for charities and this year the first of these events is the St Luke’s Hospice Midnight Walk.
Bhavni Shah has completed this event for the past few years and is once again taking part this year. Some may say she is a glutton for punishment as these midnight walks are no easy stroll in the park. Not only is it a long way, but as anyone who has competed in a night-time event will tell you, it is even harder at that time of night, your body wants to be in bed, not exercising.
This year, however, is going to be a little different as Bhavni is leading a team from Charterhouse who are all looking to support St Luke’s. As a charity, they do an amazing job in caring for those people approaching end of life across Harrow and Brent. They not only care for the patients themselves but also work to support their families helping to ensure they have the best quality of life, each and every day.
Providing this service is extremely expensive but is an essential part of the community. Only part of their financial requirement is met by the NHS, so there is a constant challenge to raise the additional funds needed to provide their service.
To find out more about their services as well as the training they can provide have a look at their website.
Bhavni and the team will be aiming to do their bit and we will be supporting them but they, and St Luke’s can always benefit from more support.
St Luke’s is a great charity, close to many of our teams hearts and this will hopefully be the start of a longer term relationship between Charterhouse and the charity.
Thank you in advance for all your support.
