Story
Hiya, I’m Mollie and in January my Auntie, Lianne, and I will be taking part in the London Winter Walk in order to raise money for BEAT, the UK’s Eating Disorder charity. We have chosen to raise money for this charity because it has been able to provide invaluable support and signposting to myself and my family throughout my own struggles with an Eating Disorder over the last few years. Lianne has always been extremely supportive of me in every possible way during this time and so together we will be raising money so that BEAT can continue to provide their beneficial support to those suffering from Eating Disorders, their families, friends, schools and so many more. Eating disorders, especially Anorexia Nervosa, have the highest mortality rate out of any psychiatric disorder so it is vital that everyone can seek support no matter their circumstances.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to support this charity and the incredible work that they do.
Below I have included information from the BEAT website about what they aim to do, if you would like to read further into their support.
“We are the UK’s eating disorder charity. Founded in 1989 as the Eating Disorders Association, our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. The work we do means that every year lives are saved, families are kept together, and people are able to live free of eating disorders.“
