Raising money for Shooting Star Children's Hospices
In memory of Alisha

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

The London Marathon is a truly iconic event attracting athletes of all abilities from around the globe. Every year, thousands of runners choose to take on this fantastic challenge to raise vital funds for charity.

Story

Visham, and his friend Previn are running the London Marathon in memory of Visham's daughter, Alisha.

Alisha was diagnosed in February 2021 with a high/mix grade Glioma (Brain Tumour). She was treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. But, she sadly passed away on the 27th September 2022.

Visham and Previn aim to raise as much money as possible to support Shooting Star Children's Hospices, where Alisha was cared for.

Bib's have been collected - no going back now!

The final countdown - 5 days to go!

After many miles of happy running, ups and downs (literally!), some injuries and various challenges, Visham and Previn are within days of the big race! Thank you to all those who have donated to this incredible charity who supported Alisha and her family so well.

Please do continue to share this page with friends and family for more sponsorship - every pound counts and you can donate after the event too.

You will be able to follow Visham and Previn's progress during the race by looking at the TCS London Marathon App and tracking;

Visham - 23589

Previn - 23181

Thank you again :)

Update 9th Feb 2025

On Sat 8 Feb 25, many of the runners met the amazing staff, carers and fundraisers at Shooting Star Hospice (aka Christophers).

We learnt about the essential work that is done with families and saw the care provided to the young people. It was a real privilege to see.

The simple fact is that 70% of the funding for this vital resource comes from donations. Please do give generously as it really will make a huge difference .. Thank you 🙏🏾

9th Feb 2025 - running news

Visham is on a religious pilgrimage in Mauritius where he continues his regular training. Previn is up to half marathon distance with just over two months to go…all going well 🙂 (Although a twisted ankle this morning means a rest for a week or so … onward and upwards!)

27Oct2024 - Update

Fundraising has got off to a brilliant start!

'JustGiving' sends donations directly to Shooting Stars.

Ginny, a Shooting Stars physiotherapist, requested £1000 from the donations to pay for a Duck Float and a Pool Platform. These will both encourage kids into the pool and help parents play with their children. YOUR DONATIONS ARE ALREADY MAKING A DIFFERENCE :)

Visham and Previn are out pounding the pavements and steadily building up the miles:) PLEASE KEEP DONATING - THANK YOU
