Great North Run 2024
Campaign by Bowel Cancer UK (RCN 1071038)
The Great North Run is the world's largest half marathon with an incredible atmosphere, starting in Newcastle upon Tyne and finishing by the sea in South Shields. It's an amazing event for all, whether you're after a personal best or new to running!

Story

We are running the Great North Run 2024 as part of #teambowelcancer to raise money for Bowel Cancer in loving memory of the best grandad who fought and recovered from the disease 20yrs ago, however passed away from a short illness last year. Our grandad was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of everyone he met. His kindness and strength inspires us all every day. Despite his challenges whilst fighting the disease and again when fighting the short illness last year he never lost his sense of humour or love for life.

We have chosen to run the Great North Run as a tribute to his memory and to raise awareness and funds for bowel cancer research. Bowel cancer is a devastating disease that affects millions of people worldwide and by supporting their research, better treatments can be found.

Your generous donations will directly benefit Bowel Cancer UK, an organisation dedicated to funding bowel cancer research, supporting patients, and raising awareness. Any donations, whether big or small, will have a meaningful impact and mean a lot to all of our family.

We have the best memories with our grandad and know he would be so proud of us!
