Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Arthur and I are raising money for AMMF charity in memory of my sister, and Arthur's dearly missed Auntie, Sian.

Sian was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) a rare and aggressive form of cancer in January 2024. Sian's diagnosis came too late and she passed away just a few days later surrounded by her family. Sian was only 35 years old and she had only become poorly weeks earlier. Sian leaves behind so many loved ones, including her three young children. We are raising money to support AMMF, the only registered charity in the UK working to raise funds for research into cholangiocarcinoma , a liver cancer occurring within the bile ducts.

As a family, we have many happy memories from our regular holidays to Anglesey. Sian loved to visit the beach with all the kids and she would always spur others on to take a dip in the cold sea (although she would never consider doing it herself!) With this in mind, myself and Arthur (5) have decided to do a cold-water dip on Treath Bychan beach in Anglesey on Thursday 20th February which is World Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) Day.

Arthur is excited for this challenge and is confident he will succeed in his cold-water dip. Arthur is struggling to process my sister's death and we hope that completing a positive challenge will help his grieving process.

All donations, however small, will be very gratefully received. This is just the beginning of our fundraising journey.
